As January comes to an end and we look forward to the year ahead, I also look back with gratitude for our customers. As of last year, PSEG Long Island has marked 10 years of serving the people of Long Island and the Rockaways. Thank you for the privilege of powering your lives, 24/7.
Over the past decade, we have been committed to delivering exceptional customer service, best-in-class reliability and storm response and a strong level of involvement in our communities.
It has already been a busy 2024. Multiple storms have served as a reminder that severe weather can happen at any time. Our 10 years of work on tree trimming and storm hardening of the energy grid have limited the impact of those storms. In fact, PSEG Long Island is the most reliable overhead electric utility in New York State and among the most reliable in the nation.
We also work on reducing bill impacts. For example, customers who have taken advantage of our award-winning energy efficiency programs have saved more than $600 million in energy costs, while helping to reduce environmental impact.
The employees of PSEG Long Island live and work in the communities we serve and believe in giving back. Their more than 100,000 volunteer hours supporting local groups includes our own Power to Feed program, which, in just a few years, has collected more than 100,000 meals for our neighbors facing food insecurity.
As we have for 10 years, we will focus every day on serving you better and lighting the way to a greener, more reliable and more sustainable energy future. Thank you for giving us that opportunity.
