We’re always here to support you, or someone you care about, when managing energy bills becomes a struggle. Assistance may be available from our own programs or external sources.
PSEG Long Island Programs
- Household Assistance Program
This program saves eligible customers more than $500 per year. It’s available when a household member receives benefits from programs such as HEAP, Medicaid, Temporary Assistance and SNAP. Learn more here. - Payment Plans
A Deferred Payment Agreement can help you pay a balance over time with no late fees or penalties and payments as low as $10 per month. Set up an agreement in the PSEG Long Island mobile app, online with My Account or contact us at the phone number on your bill.

Additional Support
- Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP)
Assistance with heating costs is provided by HEAP, administered by New York State. HEAP provides grants toward energy costs for income-eligible households, whether you own or rent. The program typically opens in November and is available until funds are exhausted. Apply when the program opens and learn more at https://otda.ny.gov/heap. - Special Protections in Extreme Weather
At PSEG Long Island, safety is always our priority and turning off service for non-payment is always a last resort. There are special protections on days with extreme heat. We will not turn off service for non-payment to any home or apartment building on a day with a forecasted or actual heat index of 90°F or higher. The heat index is a combination of temperature and humidity.
