PSEG Long Island Salutes Lineworkers for Their Service and Dedication

National Lineworker Appreciation Day is our chance to recognize the people who make one of the toughest, most important jobs look effortless—no matter the hour, the weather, or the conditions.

At PSEG Long Island, our lineworkers are on the front lines every day—restoring power during storms, replacing damaged equipment, and working long shifts in the field to keep 1.2 million customers connected across Long Island and the Rockaways.

People like Tony Kamycki of Ronkonkoma have dedicated their careers to this work. With 33 years under his belt, Tony is the kind of person you want on your team in an emergency. He’s shown up day after day, night after night—sometimes missing holidays and family milestones to respond when our communities need him most.

“This job takes physical and mental strength,” Tony said. “But it’s worth it. I’ve always found meaning in helping people, even during the toughest moments.”

That quiet sense of responsibility lives in every lineworker we’re lucky to have—whether they’re restoring power after a storm, installing new equipment, or strengthening the grid for the future. Their work supports not just homes and businesses, but hospitals, schools, and critical infrastructure.

They’re highly trained, safety-focused, and deeply committed to serving the people who count on them.

We admire their dedication and appreciate the work they do to power life across Long Island & the Rockaways.
