Maximize Savings with Off-Peak Hours

The biggest benefit of a Time-of-Day Rate is discounted energy pricing during off-peak hours. Off-peak hours make up 88% of all hours in a year. That means you can save energy and money simply by using major appliances like your clothes dryer and dishwasher during off-peak hours.

  • Peak hours are four hours a day from 3 PM to 7 PM on weekdays only.
  • Off-peak hours make up all other hours Monday- Friday, and all-day weekends and federal holidays.

If you have the Time-of-Day Super Off-Peak Rate you get the added benefit of an even bigger discount during super off-peak hours from 10 PM to 6 AM, seven days a week. This rate is ideal for overnight electric vehicle charging.

If you have an electric oven, you’ll save by baking or cooking any time on weekends and federal holidays which are off-peak all day. You can reduce energy use and save during the peak hours of 3 PM to 7 PM, Monday through Friday, by choosing smaller appliances, like an air fryer or microwave.
